Missions

Missions

The heartbeat of our Lord is Missions.

For Mount View Baptist Temple, missions is the evangelism of the lost, the baptizing of new converts, and the discipleship of believers. These elements are clearly laid before the New Testament church in Matthew 28:18-20, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world".

Commonly referred to as the Great Commission,

this charge from Jesus Christ to His church establishes the Biblical focus of each local New Testament church. Missions, fundamentally, is the task of churches planting more churches. Missionaries, then, are quite literally church-planters. To this end, Mount View embraces a world-wide vision of missions, or church-planting. Every one of the missionaries supported by Mount View is involved either directly or indirectly in planting churches.
